ONeill Womens Hyperfreak 3/2+mm Chest Zip Steamer Wetsuit
The O’Neill Womens Hyperfreak 3/2+mm Chest Zip Steamer Wetsuit is as good as it gets when it comes to the neoprene bodysuit – it needs to be felt to be believed, because this level of suppleness is kind of crazy. With its sleek design and cutting-edge features, this wetsuit is perfect for the avid water enthusiast. The 3/2mm thickness provides optimal warmth and flexibility, making it ideal for Queensland and Northern NSW winters. The Technobutter 3X neoprene is like no other – it feels as supple as melted butter and offers exceptional stretch. What’s more, this neoprene is made from recycled materials, promoting sustainability and eco-consciousness.
The GBS seam/stitch ensures maximum stretchability while seamlessly sealing the suit to prevent water ingress. The chest zip design not only enhances flexibility but also reduces water entry compared to traditional back zips. The use of Limestone-derived neoprene further emphasizes the wetsuit’s commitment to the environment. The Aqua Alpha Solvent Free Lamination eliminates harmful glues, benefiting both you and the planet.
For added comfort, the double super seal collar creates a superior seal against the neck, mitigating rashes. The contortionist seamless shoulder panel allows for unrestricted movement, perfect for those intense water activities. The Dope Dyed Yarn Jersey not only provides efficiency but also reduces environmental impact, unlike traditional dyeing methods.
As a testament to its commitment to sustainability, this wetsuit is made with recycled materials such as plastic, car tires, and discarded oyster shells. The eco Carbon Black in the neoprene is derived from recycled tires, making up a significant portion of the material’s composition. With a minimal seam design, this wetsuit offers unparalleled stretch, warmth, and durability. Embrace the thrill of the water while supporting a greener future with the O’Neill Womens Hyperfreak 3/2+mm Chest Zip Steamer Wetsuit.

O’Neill Womens Hyperfreak 3/2+mm Chest Zip Steamer Wetsuit
- Thickness – 3/2mm: 3mm in the torso and most of the legs, 2mm in the arms and major stretch panels. 3/2s are the go to wetsuit thickness QLD and Northern NSW winters but questionable in Victoria, where 4/3s are the standard.
- Neoprene – Technobutter 3X: needs to be felt to be believed – supple like melted butter, warm also like melted butter and stretchy like some kind of super stretchy butter, if such a thing exists. Better still, this latest version is made up of recycled plastic, discarded oyster shells, old car tires and limestone neoprene (derived from limestone, not petroleum production).
- Seam/Stitch – GBS: Glued and Blindstitched seams are the stretchiest stitched seam thanks to the expanding nature of the stitch but better still the seams is sealed! A hooked needle is used to stitch the suit without creating any pin-holes through the entire panel that would let water in, the seam is then bonded with an elastic glue to provide durability and further sealing.
- Chest Zip – Chest Zip: the zip is positioned across the upper torso, this means that your back stretch is no longer inhibited and being that the zip is 1/2 or less length than a backzip, the amount of water ingress because of the zip is halved. Warm and stretchy, the two things we all want from our wetty.
- Limestone: Neoprene derived from Limestone is touted to be a more environmental method for producing the foamy, rubber-esque material that lives in the middle of the neoprene sandwich.
- Aqua Alpha Solvent Free Lamination: ditch the nasty glues and take Aqua-α solvent free route, its better for everyone/everything.
- Double super seal collar: two layers in the collar creates a better seal against the neck and reduces rashing because the inner layer isn’t fixed to the outer.
- Contortionist seamless shoulder: get those shoulders rotating with ease thanks to O’Neill’s seamless shoulder panel.
- Dope Dyed Yarn Jersey: more efficient and environmentally friendly then piece dying – instead of knitting/weaving and then dying, dope dye yarns the material itself is colored in beforehand.
- Made with recycled materials: Plastic, car tires, discarded oyster shells and more!!
- Eco Carbon Black In Neoprene: long story short: old car tires are melted (not burnt) in a process called pyrolysis. It’s then turned into a better kind of rubber (your wetsuit!). About 35% of the total weight derived from a recycled tire is Carbon Black.
