O’Neill Boys Hyperfreak 2mm Chest Zip Zip Spring Suit Wetsuit
- Thickness – 2mm: full coverage in 2mm, the midway mark of surfing neoprenes in Australia and the perfect mid-season thickness for most of us. In QLD you can definitely get away with 2mm in winter.
- Neoprene – Technobutter 3X: needs to be felt to be believed – supple like melted butter, warm also like melted butter and stretchy like some kind of super stretchy butter, if such a thing exists. Better still, this latest version is made up of recycled plastic, discarded oyster shells, old car tyres and limestone neoprene (derived from limestone, not petroleum production).
- Seam/Stitch – GBS: Glued and Blindstitched seams are the stretchiest stitched seam thanks to the expanding nature of the stitch but better still the seams is sealed! A hooked needle is used to stitch the suit without creating any pin-holes through the entire panel that would let water in, the seam is then bonded with an elastic glue to provide durability and further sealing.
- Double super seal collar: two layers in the collar creates a better seal against the neck and reduces rashing because the inner layer isn’t fixed to the outer.
- Aqua Alpha Solvent Free Lamination: ditch the nasty glues and take Aqua-α solvent free route, its better for everyone/everything.
- Spot Taped Seams: the amount of stress placed on a wetsuit occurs in key stretch areas, and these areas often have seams to improve the fit – in these areas O’Neill add a tape-like reinforcement, greatly increasing durability.
